Shalender is a development sector expert with more than two decades’ experience of working in the area of education and skills development (ESD) with organisations like UNESCO, UNICEF, ADB, The World Bank, DFID, NITI Aayog, National and State Governments. During his career, he has led, managed, and worked as specialist on various large-scale transformation projects and business process reengineering assignments for national and international organisations. As the Director and Head of the Education and Skills Development Practice at IPE Global, Shalender is undertaking variety of roles including policy review and reform, program designing and on-ground implementation. In this role, Shalender offers strategic direction and guidance to business in this area and helps position it as a best-in-class offering for clients and stakeholders. Inter-alia Shalender has led projects related to professional development of teachers, reforming pre-service and in-service teacher training, development of School Education Quality Index, Baseline for the SANKALP (Skill sector strengthening programme), Training Management System etc. Prior to joining IPE in 2013, he worked for 15 years with MHRD and NUEPA/NIEPA.
