 Cyclone waste pile worries Kodungaiyur, Perungudi residents

There is a dire need for planned infrastructure to manage solid waste in Kodungaiyur and Perungudi in Chennai to especially prevent the risks of potential fire hazard and pollution.

 

We are engaged in combating the aforementioned solid waste generated in the landfills in a project supported by World Bank. We will be preparing the Detailed Feasibility Report for various packages and provide transaction advisory services (Bid Process Management) to appoint the concessionaire on public private partnership mode as per Tamil Nadu Infrastructure Development Board requirements.

IPE Global’s involvement in this area has also been featured in The Times of India publication on January 11th, 2017. Our work for developing the report and suggesting the most suitable technology to close the landfills- on the basis of a study of the characteristics of waste in both Kodungaiyur and Perungudy regions has been highlighted. The entire area of Greater Chennai Corporation will be covered in this project. This project aims at developing Detailed Feasibility Report (DFR) for primary, secondary collection and transportation of MSW and C&D waste to the processing facility/dumpsite for Zone 1, 2, 3 & 7 (package-I); primary, secondary collection and transportation of MSW and C&D waste to the processing facility/dumpsite for Zone 11, 12, 14 & 15 (package-II); Integrated Municipal Solid Waste Management Facility, C&D waste processing facility and reclamation of landfill sites at Kodungaiyur for Zone 1 to 8 (package-III); Integrated Municipal Solid Waste Management Facility, C&D waste processing facility and reclamation of landfill sites at Perungudi for Zone 9 to 15 (package-IV) and execution through a private operator on the Public Private partnership (PPP) mode.
