Dinesh Agarwal leads IPE Global's Health, Nutrition and Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) sector. He is also the Policy Lead for Health & Disease Control in the DFID funded Knowledge Partnership Programme (KPP).

Dinesh has been the key technical resource for Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (MoHFW), Government of India on issues related to Maternal Health, Family Planning, Adolescent Health, RTIs/STIs prevention and management, HIV/AIDS prevention including facilitating development of guidelines, protocols, programme design, assessments and training material. He has designed and implemented the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) supported programmatic interventions at national level and in five UNFPA priority states and provided need based technical assistance to the Family Planning division in MoHFW and State Governments. He is highly skilled in gender mainstreaming, capacity building, policy advocacy, monitoring and evaluation, health sector reforms and financing. He chairs expert committees of ICMR on RH for disabled population and also on Multi Prevention Technologies. He also served as Senior Faculty in Community Medicine at Medical College in Udaipur.

Dinesh Agarwal is a physician and holds a post graduate qualification specialising in Community Medicine from the University of Rajasthan. He had been awarded the WHO Fellowship in Primary Health Care at Thailand. He has also been trained in Research Methods in Social Sciences from University of Kelle, UK, in Health Financing from the World Bank Institute-Harvard School of Public Health Boston and in Designing IEC/ BCC Strategies in Family Planning from JOICEF, Tokyo.
